I had a mini 1 before getting the mini 2 and it is still a very capable drone. Id pick the mini 1 fmc. You def wont get 30 mins of flight time so youll want the extra batteries.

It sounds like the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 is much bigger on the Cooper than Cooper S. The Cooper S kept a bit of the sport side with the Sport switch. But the Cooper lost all the Sport character.

Alright, everyone in this thread is getting a bit confused between the Mini 2, Mini 2 SE, and the Mini SE. The Mini 2 and Mini 2 SE have the same controller/range. The main difference is the camera. The Mini 2 SE has a similar camera to the Mini SE. they do not shoot in 4K. The Mini 2 however, does shoot in 4K.

Upon using the Mini 2, we personally felt it was a significant upgrade from its predecessor. In our test, the noise level of the Mini 2 was lower compared to the Mini 1. Mini 1 maxed at 61.4dB. Mini 2 maxes at 60.5dB. Even so, the biggest improvement is the sound produced. The mini 1 had a harsh, rough sound.
You should first check the legal status in your country - while the Pro and Air2 will probably get better results under certain conditions, in most of the world the Mini 2 will require much, much less regulatory effort (like not needing pre-approval each time when you fly it). I know the mini 3 pro is on a different level, but here the price for a mini 2 fly more combo is 500$ new, the mini 3 pro fly more is almost 1100$. I don't even take into consideration the mini 3, because the combo is 910 $ and honestly it doesn't make much sense to me. My thinking is that the less expensive mini 2 would be a great way to learn
