Hello guys so this what worked for me regarding to the issue with cars not reversing and helicopters and airplanes not descending for both controllers PS4 and Xbox. Step 1: Open Steam and then open big picture mode and make sure that your controller is working in big picture mode. Step 2: Open Far Cry 5 once you get into the games menu in big picture mode click on manage game.
The left trigger DOES NOT WORK for brake/reverse. The B button WORKS as a crouch/slide button. The B button DOES NOT WORK in lowering the throttle of the airplane. It is clear that those buttons work in the settings. The problem is not the settings. The problem is in the game code. If the buttons work for one function it means they work, period.

As the title says, when using a gamepad (Xbox One Controller) on PC, reverse is not bound to anything. I see no way to manually rebind keys, so if anyone has a solution or workaround i'd love to hear it.

It's not perfect in the sense that I have to remember to press a different button then the button that is flashing on the screen sometimes, and it will very likely only work for xbox controllers (I'm using an off-brand wired xbox controller), but it worked for me and may help others. Hey armyhayes36, Once you disconnect then your gamepad should work as per normal. The issue with ubisoft game is that sometime you need to launch/run it via the ubisoft connect instead of steam. There's nothing wrong with the game. So if you can somehow lauch a ubisoft game without steam at all that should also work but this is just my work around for it.

Controller Fix for No Reverse / Descend. 1) Right click Far Cry 5. 2) Click properties. 3) Disable controller input. 4) Launch game and use mouse and key board until game save has loaded fully. 5) Re-Enable controller input. I have had to do this work around randomly when launching the game multiple times, once game is launched it stays fixed

Worst part is, Ubi clearly states in the FAQ for supported controllers in FC5 that ANY Xinput gamepad will work: eluX8.
